Lucas Snowden celebrated Senior Night by scoring a late game-winning goal for the Comets as Amherst took down Valley Forge in non-conference play. Despite several dangerous chances throughout the game, the Comets were unable to find the back of the net until late in the second half. With just over eight minutes remaining, Joe Torres found Snowden with a through ball, who gathered it in and deposited a shot past the diving Valley Forge goalkeeper. Jayden Karnik made five big saves to earn his first-ever shutout in goal, but the most important one came with five seconds remaining in the game when he tipped a desperation shot over the bar. Danny Vitelli and Dylan Simulcik were outstanding on defense to help Amherst earn its fourth straight shutout. The Comets improved to 3-1-1 on the season and take on Avon Lake on Wednesday.

The soccer team recognized seniors Jack Ritter, Joe Torres, Lucas Snowden, Dylan Simulcik, Danny Vitelli, Derek Odelli, and Caleb McGee before the game. Thanks Seniors for everything you have given to the Comet soccer program!
